Detailed Descriptions

Colonoscopy Consultations (Colonoscopy performed in hospital)

A physical is performed to determine if there is a need for a Colonoscopy. Colonoscopy is an examination of the inner lining of the large intestine (rectum or colon). It is performed by using a thin, flexible fiber-optic instrument to examine the colon. The colonoscope helps the doctor locate any ulcers, colon polyps, tumors, inflammation and/or bleeding. The procedure can be done as a screening test for cancer or precancerous growths in the colon or rectum. Colonoscopy preparation takes 1-2 days prior to the procedure; it is recommended that you stay at home during this time as you will be on a liquid diet which results in loose, frequent stools & diarrhea.

Osteoporosis Screening Services

The National Osteoporosis Foundation recommends an Osteopenia treatment plan for men & women who are susceptible to Osteoporosis. Certain risk factors or a family history will possibly lead to Osteoporosis.

Apex Medical Group is able to screen patients for Osteoporosis through a Dexa Scan, which measures bone mineral density. The test is non-evasive & little prep is needed. Please stop taking any calcium supplements 48hrs prior to the test. Please wear loose clothing without any metal (eg zippers, buttons, rivets, etc). If you are wearing metal jewelry, you will have to remove it prior to the test. Some insurances will cover this scan, please check your policy prior to your visit.

Physicals (standard, immigration & DMV)

DMV: physicals are the full responsibility of the patient & are not covered by a patient’s insurance.

Immigration: Be sure to bring the form sent by the State of California to your visit or request one prior to your visit from the State. The Physicals are the full responsibility of the patient.
